did the first crusades win any battles, what were their tactics?
The first crusades had 7 battles in total, which included the Siege of Antioch and the second Battle of Antioch, Battle of Dorylaeum, Siege of Ma'arra, Siege of Nicaea, Battle of Ascalon which is considered one of the battles in the first crusades and Siege of Jerusalem were all successful, although the crusades nearly lost the Battle of Antioch. There was a very clever tactic by a monk called Fletcher and during the Siege of Jerusalem he claimed to the Muslims that the crusades had scaled the walls and were coming to attack which caused a lot of riot and some Muslims defenders ran away. But in reality the crusades had not come in to attack yet. The fighting tactics for the Knights in the campaign was to charge at the enemies at full speed and knock them over, this was a very useful tactic and had won the first crusades a lot of battles.
